Telecentric lenses unique features include:

• No Parallax error: the lens captures only the image of surfaces that are orthogonal to the main optical axis.
• No Change of Magnification within the depth of field: moving back and forth the object from the best focus distance, the object's image size doesn't change.
• Increased depth of field: in comparison with a common macro lens with the same working F/# and magnification, a telecentric lens exhibits a larger depth of focus.

Macro lenses are suitable for macro-based accurate imaging. While not suitable for measurement applications, macro lenses perform very effective close-range inspections and provide impressive optical performance in terms of resolution and lack of distortion. 360° SIGHT WITH JUST ONE CAMERA

Opto Engineering 360° pericentric lenses make 3d peripheral vision of objects possible without any aid of mirrors. Just one camera shot is enough to capture the top and side views of an object or the bottom and inside views of ah holed object. The name “pericentric” is due to the special path of the rays inside the objective: the aperture pupil is seen from object space as to be moving around the peripheral zone of the front optical group.

Advantages of 360° pericentric lenses:

• Just 1 camera instead of 4 or more cameras placed around and over the object to capture an image.
• No image matching, typical of “multi-point” imaging systems, is necessary.
• All the orthogonal sides have the same magnification because the object is seen from its top, not from one side.
• There's enough space between the object and the lens in order to enable the passing of pieces in on line applications.
